4 fraudsters including UP member arrested in Cumilla

The fraudsters stole more than Tk1 crore from banks and ATM booths in last four years

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four alleged bank fraudsters, including a union parishad member from Gouripur Bazar area of Cumilla on Wednesday night.

The arrestees are - Idris Mia, UP member Mominul Islam, Abu Bakkar Salafi and Rubel. 

The Narayanganj unit of the elite force also seized an illegal firearm with three rounds of bullet, fake seals, transaction receipts and equipment used for forgery from their possession, Rab-11 Senior Assistant Director Md Alep Uddin said in a press conference.

Alep Uddin also said that while there are already multiple cases against the arrestees, three new cases are being prepared against them for the possession of illegal weapon, robbery and fraudulence.

The fraudsters stole more than Tk1 crore from banks and ATM booths in last four years, he added.
