3 ‘cow thieves’ lynched in Jashore
The local people chased the thieves and gave them severe beating
Three suspected unidentified cow thieves have been beaten to death in Jashore's Abhaynagar upazila early Monday.
Abhaynagar police station Officer in Charge Md Tajul Islam said, "Some suspected thieves came on a pickup van attacked Khorshed Ali's house in Gaidgachhi village and tried to steal his cows."
"Sensing their presence the owner started shouting. Later the locals came there and made announcement on mosque loudspeaker to catch thieves," he added.
Later the local people chased the thieves and gave them severe beating near rail crossing of Majumdar area, leaving two of them dead on the spot.
Another thief died on way to Abhaynagar hospital, the OC said further.
" Three more thieves escaped. The cows were rescued," he added.
