Counterfeit money was also found in their possessions

Three members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) posted at Rohingya camp no 13 (Tanjimarkhola) were arrested Thursday with 1,954 pieces of yaba in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar.

The arrestees are APBn-8 Sub-Inspector Sohag and constables Miraz and MdNazim.

Members of APBn-8 arrested them from their rooms in the camp, said APBn-8 Captain Shihab Kaiser Khan.

According to local sources in the camp, Sub-Inspector Sohag, who was in charge of the camp, was pressuring Ekram, 38, the camp chief, to sell yaba. Ekramthen informed APBn Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Kamrul Islam of the matter.

Senior APBn officials later found the involvement of Sohag and others in the matter. The three APBnmembers were then arrested with yaba and counterfeit money in a drive.

"The arrestees were handed over to Ukhiya police after filing a case under the narcotics act," said Captain Shihab.
