2 drug peddlers held with Crystal Meth in Chattogram

The Rapid Action Battalion have arrested two drug peddlers with Ice, also know as Crystal Meth, during a raid at Muzaffarnagar area under Khulshi Police Station in Chattogram.

The incidence took place on Wednesday night and Rab disclosed it on Thursday noon through a press release.

The arrestees were identified as Shafiul Alam, 34, and Yasin Rana, 50.

On the basis of secret information, Rab members conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo.

Later, 150 gram crystal meth, worth TK14 lakh, was recovered from their possession, the Rab said, adding that the duo was handed over to police.  

Shafiul and Yasin have long been engaged in drug trading in the area.

Md Nurul Abshar, assistant director (Media) of Rab-7 said this is the first time they found the new variant of drug in Chattogram.

The drug is mainly a nerve stimulant and its consumption increases hormonal arousal a thousand times more than usual. The drug also poses the risks of stroke, heart attack, teeth decay and permanent hallucinations.
