Cox's Bazar journalist dies of Covid-19 in India

Nazrul Islam Bakshi, a veteran journalist, cultural, drama and social figure and columnist from Cox's Bazar, has died of Covid-19 in India after going there for his wife's cancer treatment.

The 56-year old journalist died at the CMC Hospital in Vellore, India, around 10:30 am on Sunday where his wife was also undergoing treatment, said Jhilangja Union Parishad chairman Tipu Sultan.

Bakshi's death has cast a shadow of mourning over the journalists in Cox's Bazar.

Cox's Bazar Reporters' Unity President Rasel Chowdhury and General Secretary Sayeed Alamgir expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
