The High Court on Wednesday said the whole country should be on lockdown in the light of how the coronavirus is spreading.

The court made the observation in response to a writ petition seeking court directives to set up coronavirus testing labs across the country.

The bench of Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir made the observation. Barrister Humayun Kabir Pallab stood for the petitioner.

The court said the people should follow and put trust in the government's guidelines on preventing coronavirus.

It said everyone should work together to fight the virus.
