What steps taken over cutting woman's hair in Sirajganj, HC asks

The High Court today wanted to know about the steps taken against Awami League leader Abdur Rashid for cutting off a woman's hair in Sirajganj over a false accusation. 

The High Court bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader gave the order. 

The court asked deputy commissioner of Sirajganj, assistant superintendent of police and officer-in-charge of Ullapara Police Station to inform about the steps to Deputy Attorney General Abdullah-Al-Mahmud Bashar by December 11. 

Deputy Attorney General Abdullah-Al-Mahmud Bashar said, the court will take actions regarding the matter after knowing about the steps. 

Abdur Rashid, a ward-unit president, along with his four accomplices cut the hair of a house wife Bilkis Khatun on November 25 over a false slander of being characterless, according to the reports published in news portals. 

A video clip of the incident went viral on social media. 

On 2 December, Bilkis filed a case against the five including the AL leader with Ullapara police station.

However, police could not arrest anyone yet.
