Minni was granted conditional bail by HC

The state has appealed against the conditional bail granted by the High Court to Ayesha Siddiqe Minni, one of the suspects in the sensational Rifat Shorif murder case.

Advocate-on-record Sufia Khatun on Sunday submitted the application to the concerned branch of the Appellate Division.

Earlier, the High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman granted bail to Minni in connection with the case on August 29.

The court granted her bail on condition that she would not be allowed to talk to the media about any issue of the case.

The court passed the order in consideration of Minni’s age, relevance to the case and status as an eye witness.

Rifat, who was Minni’s husband, was hacked to death in front of her in broad daylight on June 26. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.

Meanwhile, the office of the Barguna Superintendent of Police on Sunday submitted two charge sheets, accusing 24 people, including Minni, in the case.

The charge sheets were filed before the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.

The charge sheets, however, released the prime suspect Sabbir Ahmed Nayan, from the charge because he was killed in an alleged gunfight with the police.
