Shahbagh student-police clash report on March 15

A Dhaka court today set March 15 to submit probe report in the case lodged over 2017 clash between students of seven DU-affiliated colleges and police in Shahbagh area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari set the date as investigation officer failed to submit the report today.

Students of seven government colleges in Dhaka which have been affiliated with the Dhaka University (DU) took to the street on July 20, 2017, with various demands including announcement of the date of their exams.

At one stage, they locked in clash with law enforcers as police tried to push the students out of the street for ensuring vehicular movement. A couple of students and several law enforcers were injured in the clash.

Shahbagh Police Station sub-inspector Md Mazhar filed the case next day against 1,200 unidentified persons for obstructing police to do their duties, launching attack on police and attempt to murder.
