The Appellate Division has granted bail to Banani's FR Tower and two Rajuk officials in design forgery case today.

The bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain also stayed a High Court order that asked the accused persons to surrender before a lower court.

Earlier, the trio, FR Tower owner Syed Md Hossain Imam Faruque, former Rajuk's inspector Md Aurangzeb Siddique Nannu and former deputy director (estate) Md Sawkat Ali, were asked to surrender to the lower court on November 11.

On November 17, Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court KM Imrul Kayes sent them to jail when they pleaded for bail upon surrendering before the court.

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed a case against the three over forgery of the design of FR Tower, which caught fire leading to the deaths of 25 people on March 28 this year.
