A court here on Friday placed Rishan Farazi on a five-day remand in a case over the killing Rifat Sharif in broad daylight in the district town.

Barguna Senior judicial Magistrate Sirajul Islam Kazi passed the order when investigation officer of the case Humayun Kabir produced him before the court with a 7-day remand prayer.

Earlier on Thursday, police arrested Rishan, no 3 accused in the case, from the district.

Rifat, 22, was attacked with sharp weapons near the main gate of Barguna Government College on June 26.

Rifat was sent to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal where he died.

His wife Aysha Siddika Minni appeared to be trying to protect him during the broad daylight attack caught on surveillance camera.

Noyon Bond, the prime accused in the case, was killed in a reported gunfight with law enforcers on July 2.

Police arrested Minni on Tuesday night after a daylong interrogation. A court granted police five days to interrogate her in custody.

Apart from Minni, 13 suspects have so far been arrested.

Seven of them have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the murder.
