Minni’s bail upheld
The state on Sunday appealed against the conditional bail granted by the High Court.
The Appellate Division has upheld a High Court order that granted bail to Ayesha Siddiqua Minni, one of the chargesheeted accused in the sensational Rifat Shorif murder case.
Chamber Judge Hasan Foez Siddique of the Appellate Division passed the order on Monday.
Minni’s lawyer ZI Khan Panna told journalists that now there is no legal bar for Minni to get released from the jail.

The state on Sunday appealed against the conditional bail granted by the High Court. Advocate-on-record Sufia Khatun submitted the application.
Earlier, the High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman granted bail to Minni on August 29 on the condition that she would not talk to the media about any issue of the case.
The court passed the order considering Minni’s age, relevance to the case and status as an eyewitness.
Rifat Shorif was hacked to death in front of Minni in broad daylight on June 26. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.
Meanwhile, the office of the Barguna superintendent of police on Sunday submitted two charge sheets to the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, accusing 24 people, including Minni, in the case.
The charge sheets excluded the prime suspect Sabbir Ahmed Nayan as he had died in an alleged gunfight with the police.
