Asks police not be overenthusiastic about Minni

The High Court (HC) on Sunday turned down a writ petition filed seeking its directive to transfer Rifat murder case to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) or the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) for ‘proper investigation’, citing the petition was not placed on proper ground.

The HC bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader also said if Minni’s family is not happy with the investigation being conducted by police, they can come to the court as it is their right.

If Aysha Siddiqa Minni’s involvement is found through police investigation, she will be the accused for Rifat Sharif murder, the HC said.

The court, however, asked police not be overenthusiastic about Minni and suggested them to focus more on the prime accused.

Earlier on July 25, Advocate Eunus Ali Akond filed the petition with the HC seeking its directive to transfer the case to the CID or the PBI.
