HC observing steps being taken over torture of mother, daughters in Cox's Bazar

"We will look into the matter to see If there is any negligence in the investigation of the matter"

The High Court (HC) is observing the steps being taken over the torture of five people including a mother, her  two daughters and son. They were tied with rope  for alleged involvement in stealing a cow at a village under Chakaria upazila in Cox's Bazar. 

The HC said today, " We will look into the matter to see If there is any negligence in the investigation of the matter." 

The HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice AKM Zahirul Haq made the comment today after noticing the report about the matter published in a newspaper. 

The incident took place on August 21 in Harbang union of the upazila. The chairman of the union, Miranul Islam, was allegedly involved in the case. 

They picture of the mother, daughters and son went viral after it was uploaded on social media.
