A Dhaka court has placed Erfan Selim's car driver Mijanur on one-day remand.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan granted the remand when police produced him before the court with a 5-day remand plea on Monday, reports Prothom Alo.

Earlier on Sunday evening, a Navy officer was assaulted by Erfan Selim, son of Dhaka-7 MP Hazi Mohammad Selim, near Kalabagan crossing in Dhanmondi area after his motorcycle collided with a car owned by the lawmaker.

Lieutenant Wasif Ahmad filed a general diary with Dhanmandi Police Station over the incident last. Later he lodged a case accusing Erfan Selim, his driver and five others of assaulting a government staff and issuing death threat on Monday morning.

The driver was taken to police custody after the incident and shown arrested today morning.
