In August 2020 a case was filed against Pradeep and his wife Chumki for illegally amassing around Tk4 crore

A Chattogram court on Sunday denied the bail application of former Teknaf Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for illegally amassing wealth.

The court of Metropolitan Session Judge Ashfaqur Rahman passed the order after a hearing on Sunday.

On 23 August, 2020 ACC Assistant Director Riaz Uddin filed a case against Pradeep and his wife Chumki for illegally amassing around Tk4 crore.

ACC lawyer Mahmudul Haque Mahmud said the court did not grant bail to Pradeep Kumar Das in the ACC case.

According to the case file, Pradeep Kumar Das and his wife Chumki concealed the acquisition of assets worth Tk13 lakh in their asset statement submitted to the ACC. Further, through bribery and corruption, he acquired assets worth nearly Tk4 crore.
