A Dhaka court has ordered authorities concerned to freeze 58 bank accounts of the Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed Karim and its Managing Director (MD) Masud Parvez.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order when the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police made an appeal to the court in this regard on Wednesday.

The court ordered the freezing of 43 bank accounts belonging to Shahed, and 15 accounts of Masud, said Taposh Kumar Paul, additional public prosecutor of the court.

The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Shahed from an area near the Debhata border in Satkhira on July 15.

The Rab arrested Masud from the Kapasia area in Gazipur the previous day.

They allegedly provided fake Covid-19 certificates to patients.
