Court orders auction of seized onion in Chattogram

A Chattogram court today ordered auction of 175 kg onion of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) seized from a shop in Chattogram's Bayazid Bostami area.
"The auction will be held at the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohiuddin Murad on Thursday afternoon," Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Nazir Abul Kalam Azad confirmed.
On Monday, police seized seven sacks of onions of TCB from a shop at Oxygen area in Chattogram. Four people were detained in this connection.
"Those onions were being sold in the retail market," Md Azad, sub-inspector of Bayejid Bostami police station said.
