The Special Metropolitan Magistrate's Court has issued an arrest warrant against the owner of printing company Azad Products for nonpayment of holding tax to the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The court issued the warrant against Abul Kalam Azad, owner of Azad Products, as he has not taken any steps to pay the tax worth around Tk43 lakh despite repeated reminders and summons by the court, according to a press release signed by the DSCC's Public Relations Officer Abu Naser on Thursday (17 August).

The DSCC Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court's Joint District and Sessions Judge Alaul Akbar gave the order on Wednesday (16 August).

In the order, the court also fixed 30 August for confirming presence of the accused and hearing for charge and discharge.

The court passed this order according to section-75 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
