The apex court passed the order while hearing on a petition submitted by Khaleda Zia seeking bail in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today asked Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities to submit the medical reports of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia by December 5.

The apex court headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order while hearing on a petition submitted by Khaleda Zia seeking bail in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

It also fixed the same date for passing an order on the bail petition.

Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Barrister Mouded Ahmed and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon represented the BNP chief in the court.

Earlier on November 25, the apex court set today for hearing the bail petition.

On October 29 last year, a special court in Dhaka convicted Khaleda in the case and sentenced her to seven years' imprisonment in her absence.

Subsequently, Khaleda appealed against the decision and filed a separate petition seeking bail in the case.

On July 31 this year, the High Court rejected her petition.

Later on November 14, Khaleda filed another appeal challenging the HC order that rejected her bail petition.
