Police on Sunday submitted the final investigation report against Samiul alias Julkarnain Sater Khan and six others in a case filed over posting anti-state content on Facebook.

Samiul played one of the key characters in All the Prime Minister's Men, a documentary aired on Qatar-based international media Al Jazeera in February.

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Deputy Inspector Afsar Ahmed submitted the probe report to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka.

The others accused in case are cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, Rastrochinta Coordinator Didarul Bhuiyan, former director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange Minhaz Mannan, Netra News Editor-in-Chief Tasneem Khalil, Ashik Imran, and Swapan Wahid.

The CTTC also appealed to withdraw charges against four people as its investigation found no evidence of their involvement in the offence.

The four are writer Mushtaq Ahmed, expatriate journalist Saleh Alam, expatriate blogger Mohiuddin, and Philip Shumakhar.

Police were scheduled to submit the report on 9 February but the state applied for more investigation into the matter.

On 10 February, Bangladesh Cyber Tribunal asked the CTTC to investigate the case and submit a report.
