RAB said they were planning to attack law enforcers with machetes and knives

A Dhaka court yesterday placed four members of the banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team on a 4-day remand, in connection with an Anti-Terrorism Act case filed at Shah Ali police station in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order when the investigation officer produced them before the court with a 7-day remand plea.

Makbul Haasan, general recording officer of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court, confirmed the news to The Business Standard.

The detainees are Ariful Karim Chowdhury, Mehedi Hasana Shaakil, Abdullah Al Maamun and Naazmul Ahaasan.

They were detained by the Rapid Action Battalion from Shah Ali area in Mirpur on Wednesday. RAB said they were planning to attack law enforcers with machetes and knives.
