10 to walk the gallows for killing a trader in Mymensingh

A Dhaka court today sentenced 10 people to death for their involvement in killing a medicine trader, Mazharul Islam Paltan, in Mymensingh's Nandail in 2007.

Judge Abu Jafar Md Kamruzzaman of Speedy Trial Tribunal passed the order.

The death row convicts are - Eaklas Uddin alias Juel, Abul Kashem alias Bachu, Kabir Mia, Abul Kashem alias Abu, Abul Kalam Azad alias Pinu Doctor, Chandan, Shukkur Ali alias Ashraf Ali, Md. Badal Mia, Faruk Mia and Ruma Akther. 

Mazharul Islam Paltan was killed brutally inside his medicine shop on February 28 in 2017 following a dispute.

His sister filed a murder case with Nandail police station. Police submitted charge sheet against 18 accused after investigation on January 31 in 2008. Later the case was transferred to the Speedy Trial Tribunal.
