Cosmetics items arrive instead of water pumps

Chattogram Custom House has seized a shipment by importer Only One International which consisted of cosmetics instead of water pump as per their bill of entry.
Nur Uddin Milon, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Custom House confirmed the news.
According to the bill of entry, the company was supposed to import 2000 pieces of water pump which weighed at 23,000kg.
However, acting on secret information, the Audit, Investigation and Research unit seized 36,965kg of cosmetics items including hair gel, soap, shampoo, hair oil, face wash, playing card, toothpaste, toothbrush, body wash etc. Along with those, 48 pieces of water pump weighing 202kg.
The potential revenue gap here is Tk1,29,73,000. Next steps will be taken as per customs law.
