Concrete sleeper factory at Chhatak will resume: Rail Minister

Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan on Sunday said the only concrete sleeper factory of the country will resume production at Chhatak in the district.

He informed this to local journalists after visiting the factory.

Railways Minister also said that "We'll gradually recover all land including illegally occupied and barren land of railways."

"We've visited Bholaganj Ropeway Plant and planning on using it," said the minister adding that the ministry has been working to establish a coordinated communication system.

The government has extended railways to all districts now, as railway can be the best means of communication for all the people of the country, he added.

Md Shamsuzzaman, railway director general, east zone; Dhirendra Nath Mazumder, railway deputy director, Chattogram (operation), among other high officials were present.
