Citi Bangladesh pays tribute to Md Khurshid Alam

Citi Bangladesh recently organised its annual event 'Gaane Gaane Gunijon Shongbordhona' to celebrate the lifetime contributions of eminent musician Md Khurshid Alam. At the event, renowned artist and chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Mustafa Monwar and lyricist Mohammad Rafiquzzaman spoke about the acclaimed artist's celebrated musical career. 

Citi Country Officer Bangladesh, N Rajashekaran and M Monwar presented Khurshid Alam an honorary crest, a self-portrait and a cheque for his outstanding contribution to enriching the cultural heritage of Bangladesh.

In his speech, Khurshid Alam said, "I am delighted to accept this award and to join past recipients for whom I have immense respect and admiration. I would like to express gratitude to Citi for this honour and continuous support in promoting music, art and culture of Bangladesh."

N Rajashekaran said, "Acknowledging the lifetime accomplishments of Khurshid Alam is a privilege for Citi. The energy and enthusiasm found in his voice is truly inspirational for Bengali music lovers all around the world."

Since the first 'Gaane Gaane Gunijon Songbordhona' in 2004, Citi has honoured several leading musicians, namely Late Nilufar Yasmin, Farida Parveen, Late Feroza Begum, Sanjida Khatun, Late Shorab Hossain, Ferdousi Rahman, Sabina Yasmin, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Late Subir Nandi, Late Shahnaz Rahmatullah, Syed Abdul Hadi, Mitali Mukherjee, Runa Laila, Ferdous Wahid and Alauddin Ali for their outstanding contribution to Bengali music and culture.
