CID chief Shafiqul made DMP commissioner

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Chief and Additional Inspector General Mohammad Shafiqul Islam has been appointed as the commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary to the Home Ministry, issued a gazette regarding the appointment as per a directive of the president.
Mohammad Shafiqul Islam was appointed as the CID chief on May 16 this year.
Earlier, Shafiqul had worked as the additional IGP at the Police Headquarters.
In another gazette signed by the same deputy secretary, Additional IGP of Police Headquarters Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has been appointed as the newly CID chief.
