Child among 4 injured in crude bomb explosions at 3 Dhaka polling stations

At least four people including a child were injured as three crude bomb blasts occurred at three polling stations in the capital.

The injured included Maksuda Begum, Amir Hossain, Badal Ahmed and his 8-year-old boy Tanvir Ahmed.

The first incident took place around 7am near the Karatitola Government Primary School polling center in Saidabad, where a crude bomb exploded, leaving one person injured, according to Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Hossain of the Wari Division of Police. Following the incident, security measures were intensified, and the polling process continued without further disruptions, he added.

In a separate occurrence at 10am, two bombs detonated outside the Anweshana School polling station in Khilkshet.

Additionally, around noon, a cocktail explosion was reported in Hazaribagh, said Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf Hossain of the Ramna Division.

He said, "Although one person was injured near Jamia Alia Madrasa, the incident did not impact the voting process, and everything remained normal.

According to Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, three individuals, including a child, who were injured in the bomb explosion in Hazaribagh, received first aid at the hospital and left.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with these incidents, as per the police.
