Chief accountant of Rajshahi railway suspended
Bangladesh Railway Rajshahi's Additional Finance Adviser and Chief Accountant Golam Rabbani has been suspended on various charges, including setting up of a distorted mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The railway official, currently attached to the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh, also evicted more than three hundreds of makeshift stalls from the land belonging to Bangladesh Railway and was involved in antisocial activities.
The Finance Division has issued the suspension order today, as per the Employee Discipline and Appeal Rules-2018.
It took the punitive measure following a probe report by CAG Office that found the allegations authentic.
Earlier Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner brought the allegations against the railway official.
During his suspension period, Golam Rabbani will receive subsistence allowance, read the notification, adding that the decision will come into effect immediately.
