Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Chattogram Jubo League leader Nur Mostafa Tinu with firearms from Sholoshahar area of the city on Sunday night.

One of his cohorts Jasim Uddin was also arrested.

The elite force seized a pistol and five rounds of bullets from Tinu's possession, confirmed Major Mehedi Hasan, commander of RAB-7.

After his arrest, a team led by Squadron Leader Safayet Fahim, assistant commander of RAB-7 conducted a search operation at Tinu's Chwakbazar residence from 11 am to 3 am and seized a shotgun and 67 rounds of bullets.

Tinu is an accused of several cases including extortion, smuggling and kidnapping.

RAB also said that he is the ring leader of a teen gang in the Chattogram city.
