Domestic flights to Ctg, Cox's Bazar, Jashore cancelled
All local Bangladeshi airlines have cancelled domestic flights of Dhaka, Chattogram, Jashore and Cox’s Bazar scheduled for afternoon and evening today
All operational activities at the Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram will be halted from today afternoon till tomorrow morning due to the approaching Cyclone Bulbul.
A senior executive of Civil Aviation Authority informed that all international flights scheduled to depart from Chattogram will be diverted to Dhaka.
"Biman Bangladesh Airlines has cancelled two of its flights of Dhaka and Chattogram that were scheduled to depart after evening," Md Mokabbir Hossain, managing director of the national carrier, confirmed to The Business Standard.
"Another flight, which was scheduled to depart for Dubai from Chattogram at 8.15pm, will be diverted to Dhaka for departure," he said.
"The Dubai-bound flight will be diverted to Dhaka airport from Cox's Bazar airport four hours before its departure," he added.
However, AHN Towhid-ul Ahsan, director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed that the capital's airport will remain operational.
Meanwhile, all local Bangladeshi airlines have cancelled domestic flights of Dhaka, Chattogram, Jashore and Cox's Bazar scheduled for afternoon and evening today due to the cyclone.
Novoair and Regent Airways, two privately-owned domestic airlines in Bangladesh, informed that all flights of Dhaka, Jashore, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar, scheduled for departure today afternoon and evening, have been cancelled.
