The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested the driver and conductor of a bus of Victoria Classic Paribahan from Narayanganj and Shariatpur districts on Friday night. The bus ran over and killed singer and music composer Parvez Rob on September 5.
The arrested men have been identified as driver Md Sumon Mia, and bus conductor Akter Hossain.

Related sources said that on 5 September, a bus of Victor Classic Paribahan ran over singer and music composer Parvez Rob while he was trying to board another bus in the capital's Turag area. The victim's wife filed a case at Turag police station over the killing.
The following day, when Parvez's son Yamin Alvi and his friends spotted another bus of the same transportation company in Uttara, they tried to stop it. Instead of halting, the vehicle hit them, injuring Alvi and killing one of his friends instantly, said the police and family members.
DB sources said that during initial questioning, the arrested men said that at around 10am on September 5, the driver of the bus, Suman, asked supervisor Akter Hossain to drive. Akter was driving the bus while Sumon was sitting beside him. Akter was driving the vehicle recklessly and at one point ran over Parvez Rob.
