A fire has broken out at a seven-storey building at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital.

Shahjahan Shikder, public relations officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said fire originated at the seventh floor of the building around 9pm Wednesday.

Two firefighting units from Baridhara station reached the spot at 9:25pm and were trying to douse the flame, he added.
