Brac Bank wins two prestigious Visa awards

Brac Bank Ltd received two exclusive awards from Visa International Ltd for its outstanding performance in credit card business for the period of July 2018 to June 2019 at a ceremony, under the banner Visa: Reimagine Digital Payments, in Dhaka recently. 

According to a press release, Brac Bank won the "Excellence in credit cards business" and "Excellence in point of sale acquiring business" awards from the global payments provider Visa.

The press release added that Brac Bank is the first local bank in the country's credit card industry to clinch both of the awards in a fiscal year.

Commenting on the accolade, Brac Bank's Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Md Sabbir Hossain said, "This prestigious recognition from Visa shows our business strength in the cards industry. Our unique and lucrative cards proposition and extensive acquiring presence win trust and loyalty of the customers that help us consolidate our market share in cards business."

Group Country Manager of India and South Asia chapter TR Ramachandran; Director (Business Development) of South Asia, Soumya Basu; and Associate Director (Business Development) of South Asia, Poulomi Mukherjee of the Visa International were present at the ceremony. 

Md Sabbir Hossain, the head of alternate banking; Siraj Siddiquey, the head of digital banking and e-commerce; Sarah Anam, the head of deposits and NFB; Khairuddin Ahmed, the head of merchant acquiring; and Joarder Tanvir Faisal, the head of product-cards of Brac Bank were also present.

Brac Bank Ltd, traded as 'BRACBANK' on the Dhaka Stock Exchange, has been one of the country's fastest growing banks since its inception in 2001, with particular focus in the SME segment. With 187 branches, 460 ATMs, 456 SME Unit Offices, and a workforce of more than 8,000 people, Brac Bank also provides services to the customers across the corporate and retail segments in the banking industry.
