Brac Bank partners with 3 charitable organisations

Brac Bank has partnered with three renowned charitable organisations to mobilise more resources for humanitarian causes, said a press release from the bank on Sunday.

To drive fundraising and engage current and prospective donors, Brac Bank has partnered with Bidyanondo, an educational voluntary organization, Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping and supporting thalassemia patients, and Child and Old Age Care, a non-profit organisation committed to sheltering and caring for unfortunate elderly people.

Brac Bank's credit card holders will be able to make donations to charities through their online portals. The bank will contribute an additional 10 percent or Tk1,000 (whichever is lower) for every donation made, said the press release.

Selim RF Hussain, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, said that, "Being a member of the United Nations Global Compact, Brac Bank is committed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

He also said that Brac Bank has always felt the need to innovate for non-profit partner communities as far as technology and services are concerned.

"Technology can help charities increase donations, find new donors and extend the reach of their campaigns at large. We are committed to the cause of helping non-profits take advantage of the enormous fundraising potential through this platform. With this initiative, we offer you the chance to be part of a greater humanitarian cause, and to connect with a bigger story – one that supports the causes you are passionate about," said Selim RF Hussain.

Brac Bank Limited has been one of the country's fastest growing banks since its inception in 2001.
