Bodies of two youths recovered in Rangamati

Police recovered bodies of two youths, a boy and a girl, floating in the Kaptai Lake near Morghona area of Rangamati district on Thursday.

The diseased were identified as Himel Dewanjee, 18, son of Soton Dewanjee of Patharghata, and Tahfima Khanam Tinny, 18, daughter of Shaheed Talukder of Natuar Tilla under Rangunia upazila of Chattogram. Tinny was a student of Rangmati Lakers’ School and College.

Meer Zahedul Haque, officer-in-charge of Kotoali police station, said after primary investigation it seemed that they committed suicide. The duo from different religions loved each other.

The bodies were sent to Upazila Sadar General Hospital for autopsy.

The police filed an unnatural death case in this regard with the police station.
