Blood donation camp held at Ramna zone of DMP

A blood donation camp was held at Ramna zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.

A voluntary organisation "Alor Sondhane: In search of Light" organised the blood donation campaign where around 50 persons across the capital joined and donated blood.

The Assistant Commissioner (Ramna zone) office of DMP and Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh also collaborated the campaign.

While inaugurating the programme on Monday afternoon, DMP Tejgaon (Traffic) division additional deputy commissioner, SM Shamim said that the voluntary organisation is aiding homeless and poor people in the capital even during the pandemic.

Kazi Jahidul Hasan, treasurer of the organisation, praising the event, said that a youth has joined the campaign and donated blood who came all the way from Savar.

"We got huge response from the donators, and the blood bags will be provided to the Central Police Hospital for patients," he added. 

Besides, diabetic test, blood group test and some other events were arranged at the event.

SM Shamim, also the adviser of the organisation later handed over gifts to the blood donors.

Assistant Commissioner (Ramna zone) of DMP Md Bayzidur Rahman, Alor Sondhane General Secretary Gazi Mursalin were also present there, among others.
