Biman gets new MD

Mokabbir Hossain, additional secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, has been appointed as managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice in this regard today.

Tahera Khandker, general manager of Biman, confirmed The Business Standard about the appointment of new MD, but she did not get official letter yet.

Mokabbir has been serving aviation ministry for last one and half years as additional secretary.

During his career, he worked in ministry of public administration, posts and telecommunications division, finance division, rural development and co-operative division, commerce ministry etc.

The position remained vacant since May after Biman's previous MD Mosaddique Ahmed was fired.
