Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) has signed MoUs with five government agencies to provide 11 types of services through the One Stop Service (OSS) centre.
The OSS will now provide 30 services including 14 from Bida and 16 from other agencies.
Jiban Krishna Saha Roy, director (OSS) of Bida signed the MoUs with the Security Services Division, Office of the Chief Controller of Import and Export, Chattagram Development Authority (CDA), Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (Desco) and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) on Wednesday at an event presided by Bida's Excecutive Chairman Md Sirazul Islam.
Talking at the event, the Bida chairman said despite 8 notches of improvement, Bangladesh is far behind the other competitors like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam in the index of Easy of Doing Business of the World Bank.
To harmonise businesses and to attract foreign investment, the government is intending to improve Bangladesh within 150th position in this year and below 100 in the next year.
He urged the authorities to provide quality services within time after MoUs.
Dinarul Islam, excecutive member of the Bida said, currently they are providing 19 services through the online platform.
He said, the Bida signed MoUs with six agencies but two city Corporations of Dhaka and Chattagram City Corporation are not proving services following MoUs.
Bida will provide total 154 services of 35 agencies through the OSS, he added.
