They also sought the removal of the district's police chief and officer-in-charge of Borhanuddin police station over the incident. Otherwise, they have threatened to launch a tougher agitation programme.

The leaders of Islami Andolon said they will hold nationwide protest programmes on Friday over the incident.

Four people were killed and over 200 injured in a clash between police and local people in Borhanuddin upazila on Sunday over a Facebook post that apparently hurt religious sentiment.
