Bhasani will remain forever in political history: Minister

The contribution of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani will always be remembered in the political history of Bangladesh, said Information Minister Hasan Mahmud.
The minister made the remark at a virtual discussion on the occasion of the 44th death anniversary of Maulana Bhasani, organised by the National Awami Party (NAP), at the National Press Club on Tuesday morning, according to a press release.
"Maulana Bhasani could have assumed various government posts, including ministers and lawmakers if he wanted to. But he never went for those. He is the one who brought the politics of the Muslim League from the bourgeois to the people," the minister further said.
NAP Chairman MA Bhasani chaired the event, while advocate Nurul Amin Rohul, MP, freedom fighter Akram Hossain, among others, were present at the event.
