BGB delegation on two-day visit to India
The BGB and the BSF will hold bilateral talks involving smuggling, trespassing, border killing, women and children trafficking, and border security arrangement
A 10-member delegation of the Border Guard Bangladesh has reached India on a two-day visit to the neighbouring country.
On Thursday, the BGB team entered India through the Benapole check post.
Colonel Nirod Paul, commanding officer of 64 battalion of the Indian Border Security Force, welcomed the Bangladesh team led by
Brigadier General Md Jalal Gani Khan, commanding officer of the BGB Jashore region.
Lieutenant Colonel Selim Reza, commanding officer of the 49 BGB Battalion in Jashore, said the two sides will hold bilateral talks involving smuggling, trespassing, border killing, women and children trafficking, and border security arrangement.
BGB sources said the bilateral meeting will take place in Kolkata on October 4 and 5.
The delegation includes BGB Rangpur region Commanding Officer Brigadier General Benjin Ahmed, Rajshahi sector commander Colonel Mushfiqur Rahman Masum, Khulna sector commander Colonel Arshaduzzaman Khan, staff officers Lt Col Ahmed Junaid, Lt Col Rahad Newaz, Major Nazim Uddin and Mofizur Rahman, and home ministry officials Arif Ahmed and Parul Dewan.
