A team from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University has won the 16th edition of the skill development based recruitment competition the Battle of Minds 2019.

The winning team, "The Beetles" were crowned champions at the grand finale which was held on December 11 (Wednesday) evening at a hotel in the capital.

"Now You See Us" from the Bangladesh University of Professional and "Three Horsemen," also from the IBA-DU, were named the first and the second runners-up respectively.

Around 4,000 students from different universities across the country participated in the competition this year.

Md Sohrab Hossain, senior secretary of the Ministry of Education, attended the event as chief guest.

In his speech he said, "The government is working relentlessly to develop a skilled workforce in the country. Through this kind of competitions, the potentials of our young students can be assessed properly. It helps usher in new possibilities and opportunities for our youngsters as well as the overall development of the country."

The British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has been organising the competition since 2004.
