Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Thursday allegedly attacked two journalists while they were covering news on Dhaka University (DU) campus.

According to eyewitnesses, some BCL men attacked Asif Himadri in front of VC Chattar of the university while he was covering news around 7pm. On the other hand, Abid Hasan Rasel came under attack around 5.30 pm by BCL men of DU unit.

Apart from those, another group of BCL men allegedly attacked the leftist progressive student alliance on Fuller Road of Dhaka University. At least 20 were injured, of whom four were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency department. Anik Roy, former general secretary of the student union, confirmed the information to The Business Standard.

Despite repeated attempts to reach BCL president Al Nahiyan Khan Joy and Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee for comments, they did not pick up the calls.
