Banker killed in Khulna road crash

A man was killed as a truck and a motorcycle collided head-on in Khulna’s Nijkhamar area early today.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Samad, 37, a Brank Bank official. He hailed from Keshabpur upazila of Jessore.

“The accident took place at around 06:45am as a Satkhira-bound sand-laden bus had a head-on collision with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction on the Khulna-Satkhira highway in front of the rural power office in the area,” Assistant Police Inspector of Lobonchora Police Station Rotneshwar Kumar Mondol said.

“The road crash left Samad dead on the spot. Initially, we are assuming that Samad was going to his workplace in Kotalipara,” he added.

“Police seized the truck, while the driver and the helper fled the scene.”
