Bangladesh will observe one day state mourning tomorrow on sad demise of Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said who passed away on January 10.

"National flag will be hoisted at half mast by all government, private and educational institutions including Bangladesh Embassies abroad and special prayer to be offered at all mosques tomorrow in honour of the Omani Sultan," Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary ABM Sarwer e Alom Sarker told BSS this evening.

The Director General (Administration) of foreign ministry has already sent letters to all Bangladesh missions abroad requesting to hoist the flag at half mast tomorrow, a foreign ministry's official source said.

Sultan Qaboos, the longest-reigning leader of the modern Arab world, died at the age of 79 on Friday.
