Besides, seven other students were suspended for two semesters each for their involvement in cheating during the admission test of the university on November 9.

On September 21, about 20 students were injured in several attacks, carried out by some students, on their way to the campus to attend a demonstration, demanding resignation of the university's VC Professor Khondokar Nasiruddin as the students alleged that the VC was involved in corruption in recruitment of teachers and employees.

Later, the VC resigned from his post amid students' protest.

The demonstrating students alleged that they came under the attacks by the supporters of the VC.
