Army man killing: No arrest, no case filed yet

Police have yet to make any arrest after two days of the brazen attack on an army patrol team in Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati in which a soldier was shot dead.

Special teams of Bangladesh Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have surrounded the Poyaitukhum area of the upazila where the attack took place.
“No case has been filed in this connection. None could be arrested. A special team of RAB and Bangladesh Army from Chittagong division are investigating the incident,” said Mofjol Hossain, officer-in-charge of Rajashthali police station.
“Security measures have been tightened in the whole district. The law enforcement agencies have increased patrolling in roads and waterways,” said Sufi Ullah, additional police superintendent of Rangamati.
Earlier on Sunday, a group of terrorists fired on the patrol team of Bangladesh Army which killed a soldier named Nasim. Captain Mehedi and another army personnel named Moshiur were injured in the incident.
