Army detains 30 suspects across CHT in June

Army personnel detained 30 suspected criminals and seized four locally made weapons along with six bullets in the three hill districts of Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachhari in June.  

The army also helped transport five critically ill members of the local ethnic community from remote hilly areas to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Chattogram for better treatment, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“Bangladesh Army has been playing an important role in maintaining law and order in the Chattogram Hill Tracks (CHT),” said the release on Tuesday. 

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed recently visited Central African Republic and met President Faustin Archange Touadéra, after he sought support for training the newly formed republic army.

In response, General Aziz agreed to allow the Medical Contingent of the Bangladesh Army to provide training.

He also proposed to provide English language training to the members of the Central African Republic Army.
