Doctor AA Golam Mortuza Harun, a life member of Bangladesh Medical Association (MBA) and its Chattogram unit's former president, has died of Covid-19 at the age of 69.

He breathed his last around 3 am while undergoing treatment at CSCR Hospital in the port city.

Dr Golam Murtuza Harun is survived by his wife, two children, along with many well-wishers, admirers, and students to mourn his death.

He was the 15th batch student of Chattogram Medical College. He also served as managing director of Chevron Clinical Laboratory (Pvt.) Limited of Chattogram.

BMA President Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddinand and General Secretary Md Ehteshamul Huq Choudhury expressed deep shock and sorrow at the demise of the doctor, read a press release.

They also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul while expressing profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

With this death, 155 doctors and three dental surgeons have died of Covid-19 in the country so far.
